What does it take to become an Online Course Instructor with Summit Learning Institute?

Here is our process for evaluating inquiries to become a course instructor with Summit Learning Institute:


  1. Read our FAQ.
  2. Complete and submit Summit Learning Institute's Course Instructor Inquiry Form to express an interest in becoming an Online Course Instructor. When you click the link above, you will be required to log into your Gmail account to access our Course Instructor Inquiry Form.
  3. Wait to receive a decision via email regarding your inquiry to become a course instructor. (Note: Inquiries are not automatically accepted. Your submitted inquiry will be reviewed and evaluated based on alignment to our mission and course categories, public demand for your course topic, and your qualifications, skills, and expertise as an instructor.)
  4. If you are invited to become a course instructor with Summit Learning Institute, the next steps are to a) complete our Identity Verification Process and b) read and complete Summit Learning Institute's Online Course Instructor Independent Contractor Agreement and return it with all necessary signatures.
  5. Upon successful verification of your identity and receipt of Summit Learning Institute's completed and signed Online Course Instructor Independent Contractor Agreement, you will receive our Online Course Development Template for completion and you will be asked to upload all related content and course materials to your Google Drive and share it with Summit Learning Institute for download. Summit Learning Institute will use your completed Online Course Development Template and uploaded course content and materials to build your course and design your course landing page or web page.
  6. Next, Summit Learning Institute will set up your course instructor account and dashboard which serves as the admin page for all course instructors/authors. The dashboard provides a list of your approved courses and also includes settings such as your instructor biographical summary, enrolled students and information, sales, settings, and payout details.
  7. After Summit Learning Institute builds your course landing page and uploads all content and materials submitted, you will have an opportunity to review and make edits before final publishing on the Summit Learning Institute website and platform for public distribution of your course for sale.

What topics can I teach as an Online Course Instructor?

You are able to teach courses that help us fulfill our mission which is to offer an online learning platform that cultivates 21st-century skills, lifelong learning, and self-empowerment through a range of course offerings. Instructional topics must fall into the following categories: Empowerment Learning, Career Development, and Leadership Development. Summit Learning Institute will review your submitted course content and topics for alignment with its mission and course categories.

Are there any fees that have to be paid to Summit Learning Institute to become an Online Course Instructor?

There is no fee to create and submit a course on the Summit Learning Institute platform. You can create and publish as many courses as you like on the Summit Learning Institute platform.

How do I earn revenue from my course sales on the Summit Learning Institute platform?

You agree to a revenue share of 60% for you and 40% for Summit Learning Institute, LLC for all courses created and submitted as completed. Instructors must have a valid PayPal account to receive course sales and earnings based on the revenue share previously communicated. Instructors will be able to enter the Paypal account email in the payout details tab of their instructor/author dashboard. Earnings and unlocked reserves are distributed every 30 days on the first business day of the month.

Are there any other important requirements for becoming an Online Course Instructor with Summit Learning Institute?

You must be a U.S. Citizen to become an Online Course Instructor with Summit Learning Institute, LLC and you are required to submit a copy of your valid U.S. I.D., Driver's License, or passport to Summit Learning Institute to complete the Identity Verification Process.

If you are invited to become an Online Course Instructor with Summit Learning Institute, you will be asked to complete our Identity Verification Process Form. You will be required to log into your Gmail account to access our Identity Verification Process Form. After you submit your required document(s) for identify verification, our team will do the following: a) review your submission of identity verification document(s) and b) confirm with you via email that your identity has been verified and that you can move forward in submitting your course content and materials for review.
